Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.

This past weekend was full of goodbyes, full of excitement and nervousness and at its center full of love, hope and strength.

We are now 5 days into deployment. And so far its been really easy. Dropping him off at the hangar was difficult. And I could tell it was hard on him as well. But I know it could be a lot worse. (Then again a lot of people seem to be harping on that as of late, "Well 6 months isn't very long! The Army goes for longer!" Just as a quick note, things like that don't help ;) )

The hardest part has been trying to explain to Sami that he won't be home soon.  Before he left, Ducky recorded a few bedtime stories for her to watch before she goes to bed. Unfortunately, now she believes that he is simply hiding in the computer. Definitely going to have to address that.

But other than that, things are going well. I sprained my foot Sunday night/Monday morning so that has made things a bit difficult around the house. But at least I have Sami to help out. She's been great at helping me around the house. She picks up her toys and her laundry, helps me make the beds and feed the animals. She is truly a wonderful blessing.
