November Birchbox Review

WOOT WOOT! Its Birchbox day!

"I have no earthly idea what you are talking about, Christina. Please stop smoking whatever it is you are smoking."

Here ya go:

Birchbox
Every month, you’ll receive a box filled with 4-5 beauty samples from luxury brands. Each month will include a different mix of product types, including makeup, skincare, fragrance, body, and hair care. All samples are generously sized, with enough product to allow you to figure out if they’re right for you. You’ll also want to take advantage of Birchbox.com, which is packed with all the beauty information and tips you need, including expert interviews, helpful tutorials, and fun videos.

Fun, huh?

I've been receiving them for about three months now. And all of them have been filled with pretty interesting things. Some things I've loved others not so much.

I might actually get up reviews on my previous boxes one day. But for now, lets go with the November box.

Yay Birchbox day!

Open Sesame

I totally plan on doing something creative with the boxes one day. But my motivation is pretty much nil as of late. Thanks crazy deployment. Thanks a lot.

First up we have:
Anastasia Beverly Hills HydraFull Gloss in Sugar Pink

Remember me saying I'm a slave to great packaging? Its true. One of my strange quirks. The gloss came in a small black box with the Anastasia Beverly Hills logo emblazoned on it. The actual gloss is in a sliver and clear tube with a silicone paddle applicator. The Sugar Pink color is very, very pink with tons of sheen.

Please excuse the lack of make up and exhausted appearance. I've had a rough few weeks...to say the least!

I was a little worried about the color. Because, like I said its very pink. But it actually worked pretty nicely for a pretty light application and if you're just running out the door. Although you want to blot several times. I used a very light coat on my lips and had to blot several times to keep it from coming off on everything I touched. But its still has quite the shine after blotting as seen in the photo. The applicator is made of silicone and really helps smooth it on cleanly and smoothly.

Also, it is Paraben Free, hypoallergenic and most importantly Cruelty Free!

However, its super tacky feeling. After a while it didn't feel quite as sticky on the lips. But I had accidentally touched it with my pinky finger and it was difficult to clean off. I ended up having to wash my hands with hand soap to get it off. But this could be a good thing as the gloss doesn't come off easily.

Price: $21

Verdict: I would love to try the Bellini shade. Which is a bit more of a golden peach color available through Birchbox with Free Shipping. But it is definitely something I would try again.

Sephora also carries the line at the same price with several other colors.

Supersmile Professional Whitening Toothpaste

"Pearly whites? Yes, please! This quick-working formula lifts away surface stains for a gleaming grin"

I've tried this once so far. It definitely cleans well and leaves a very clean feeling. It works great if you have sensitivity issues.

However, WOOOAAAH Cinnamon. It smells like you ingested an entire box of Redhots and feels like it. I'm not a huge cinnamon fan. But if you are. This is definitely right up your alley.

Price: 4.2oz for $21

Harvey Prince Eau Flirt

"The Fragrance equivalent to a wink, this fanciful scent layers fresh citrus and jasmine notes over a base of lavender and pumpkin."

I've been sniffing this on my skin for a good 45 minutes. And I'm still not 100% sure. It's a bit heavier than I expected, which I'm assuming is the pumpkin undertones. It's not something I would wear in the summer or even spring. I don't think this is something I would order. But if you like slightly heavier scents this is great. It isn't bad, it just isn't for me. Especially at the price.

Price: 50 ml | $55 or 100ml | $98

Zoya Nail Polish in Holly

"Here's one type of jewel we can afford: this emerald polish from Zoya's holiday 2011 collection glams up mails with a metallic finish. "

Awesome color. Sooo festive and deep. It is definitely an emerald color. Probably my favorite sample this month! Not only is it free of formaldehyde, tuolene, and dibutyl phtalate and is cruelty free.

I'm probably going to order this is the entire Zoya Gems & Jewels Collection.

Price: $8

Chuao Chocolatier Firecracker Chocopod
"Spicy and sweet, these artisanal dark chocolate treats are laced with chipotle and popping candy."

Yum!!! I am not a fan of spicy or dark chocolate. But this is awesome. The pop rocks make it truly pop and the chocolate and chipotle blends really well. Its very smooth and tasty.

I was definitely satisfied with my box this month! And surprised by the variety.

So if you want a Birchbox of your very own

Make with the clicky!!!!!
