Cherry on Top Award

My friend Rachel, was kind enough to nominate me for a blog award, and here it is...

Ok, so on to the Award Rules.

1.Thank the person who rewarded it to you.
Thanks Rachel!  You're pretty awesome (Even without a cherry on your head. Although, perfect Halloween costume right there)

2. Copy award to your blog.

3. List 3 things you love about yourself.
a. I'm usually pretty good with dealing with stress, I can handle pretty much whatever life throws me.
b. I have come a long way from where I was 4 years ago and that is a huge accomplishment.
c. I can (almost) always find the silver lining in things, if not I would not have made it this far.

4. Post a picture that you love on your blog.

Samantha
Canyon Lake Park
2009

I've always loved this photo of Sami, I took it the first day I got my new camera (I think, I might have used my old camera.) We went to Canyon Lake Park which is a place that is really special to us. Its one of the places we would go to just to walk around and play with Sami. It was the place Nate and I married. Sami and I celebrated Mother's Day there and she and I would go there to burn off energy during the deployment. There is also an off-leash dog park, not far from it where I've taken Zayta a few times.
This is the place that represents Rapid City to us. It's one of the few places that we've really made "ours". That doesn't have a lot of  memories from the past associated with it anymore and a place where I feel at ease. The photo definitely represents Sami. The roughness of the rock represents her rough and tumble spirit. She is tough and she is my rock. She has been the constant, immovable force in my life for the past 5 years since her conception that has kept me anchored in a safe harbor when things around me have been a rough storm. The colors and sky represent her stormy and tempestuous personality.
She's definitely my wild child

5. Pass the award on to 5 other inspirational people.

an amazing blog about a woman and her family's daily dealings with mental health. If you, or anyone you've loved or even if you just want to learn about mental health, read her blog. She has a lot of resources for you to help you learn to get the the help you or someone you might know might need. She's also German and that makes me smile.

"Mental illness is nothing to be ashamed of, but stigma and bias shame us all"

A twenty-something artist's spirit (even if she doesn't realize it) that is starting fresh in New York after leaving behind Italy thanks the military. She has absolutely amazing photography, an eye for fashion and inspiring wit. I know her educational background, but if she ever decides to leave that behind, I really think she could make it as a photographer or an artist. Even her daily clothing choices are a piece of art.

I'm a huge movie fan. This is where I go for reviews, movie release dates and anything I need to know about an upcoming movie. A lot of movie blogs I've read are very slanted to one genre, but Tori definitely goes out of her comfort zone to get a selection for the entire family.

A wonderful blog about a mother and her two gorgeous(soon to be three) children. She has amazing talent for juggling being a mother, a wife to a medical resident, active in her children's development and in her addiction to crafts and Target.

Book reviews from an amazingly witty, slightly sarcastic and always honest librarian as well as her journey to become a librarian in a time when sadly, libraries across the country are facing budget cuts. And sometimes she mentions her adorable kitty. Named Hermione.

Thanks Rachel!!!!  This was a lot of fun. :)

(and I totally copy and pasted your rules.)
