I've been battling a migraine since early this afternoon. But no rest for the weary! Sami was cranky from not sleeping very late, so we had a quick and easy dinner, and watched movies. She had a bit of a fit from exhaustion so I pulled her into my arms and sang her to sleep.
It is shocking how much love I have for this child. She makes my life so rich and full. I always thought the absolute infatuation a new mother feels when holding their child for the first time will slowly fade.
Its the same at 5 minutes as it is at 5 days and 5 years. Maybe even greater. Just feeling the absolute love and trust emanating from her while she sleeps curled up next to me is amazing. She's funny and loving and fierce. And I can't wait to see how much she grows physically and emotionally over this deployment
